Supplies Needed:
Applique kit prepared by Quilters Corner
Sewing machine with zig zag, blanket stitch & blind hem stitch capabilities
Open toe and satin applique foot for your make and model of sewing machine
Needles machine size Class 1- 75/11 quilting or 80/12 microtex sharp 60/8 or 70/10 universal;
Class 2- 60/8 or 70/10 universal
Hand self-threading needles- John James needles are the best quality
Thread Invisible nylon 004 or polyester (good quality/brand);
Cotton Aurifil 50 or Mettler 60/2, color does not matter (choose a medium value to be stitched on light print ),
Bobbin wound with Aurifil 50 or Mettler 60/2 in a neutral color.
Scissors sharp pointed and paper; serrated blade scissors if you have them (not pinking shears, some available in class to try.)
Fabric basting glue stick
Pencil for drawing shapes
Straight pins very fine 1 long for Class 2 clover or iris super fine so appliques lay flat for stitching
Tools to bring:
Sewing machine in good working order, cleaned and oiled. If your sewing machine has not been serviced within the last year, you may bring it into the store for a tune up and receive $10 off the regular tune up price. Please have a good working knowledge of how to use your machine prior to class. (If you are attending a basic class and are not familiar with your machine, please bring your instruction manual.)
You may use a classroom machine, please call ahead to reserve one.
Extra needles
Extra bobbins pre-wound with a neutral-colored thread
Reverse sewing tool (ie. seam ripper)

practice squares stabilized and fused (denim background and quilting cotton design shapes
Freezer paper, stabilizer, and steam-a-seam lite (for your samples)
Additional Supplies you will need to applique at home:
Lightweight Fusible web
Spray or liquid starch
Tear away stabilizer (light weight)
Fusible interfacing
Freezer paper Non-stick pressing sheet (also known as Applique Pressing Sheet) ? protects iron and ironing board from fusible web, essential for layering up designs and preventing fusible sticking to the iron.
