In this class you will be introduced to the tools and techniques of this Japanese stitching tradition. We will explore how to create Sashiko patterns, how to stitch the designs, and how to incorporate them into our own sewing practices. As part of the class, we will discuss how to respectfully honor and acknowledge this ancient Japanese tradition while helping to bring awareness and interest to the craft so the skills won't be lost to time.
